Coordinating with Electrical Power Companies

This story from today highlights the need for a seamless coordination effort between emergency management agencies and electrical power companies during power outage events.

Dayton Power and Montgomery County now have the right idea. In the last big windstorm that I was in at King County we invited Puget Sound Energy to have a representative in our ECC. Having a face-to-face connection was invaluable on a number of fronts. They were able to give up to the minute reports on restoration priorities and we were able to tell them about trouble spots that we knew about.

It is the only way to go!

Thanks once more to Pascal Schback for sharing the article with us.
